A friend of mine, sent me this funny posting off of Craigslist.org.

If you are a serious marketer, you’ll know the power of posting up ads for craigslist and how popular and profitable Craigslist can be for generating real leads.

Also, if you are a serious marketer, you’ll understand how important it is to write pursuasive copy in your ads that compells people to take action.

Here is one, that I think goes down in the "Best Ads of All Time" catagory. It’s passionate, it’s funny and it definitely has garnered a lot of attention, as many people have blogged about it, and now I have too, but, learn from this.

How can you craft an ad about your product or service with this much passion and hype to get people to notice you? Should you even go that far? Is this type of marketing pushing the envelope of what is acceptable or is it just the right kind of ad that matches the product he is offering…

Hey, let me know your opinion post a comment on what you think of the ad and your opinion on this type of marketing

NINJA HAULER: 2005 Nissan Xterra – $12900 (Ronan / Lake County)

OK, let me start off by saying this Xterra is only available for purchase by the manliest of men (or women). My friend, if it was possible for a vehicle to sprout chest hair and a five o’clock shadow, this Nissan would look like Tom Selleck. It is just that manly.

It was never intended to drive to the mall so you can pick up that adorable shirt at Abercrombie & Fitch that you had your eye on. It wasn’t meant to transport you to yoga class or Linens & Things. No, that’s what your Prius is for. If that’s the kind of car you’re looking for, then just do us all a favor and stop reading right now. I mean it. Just stop.

This car was engineered by 3rd degree ninja super-warriors in the highest mountains of Japan to serve the needs of the man that cheats death on a daily basis. They didn’t even consider superfluous nancy boy amenities like navigation systems (real men don’t get lost), heated leather seats (a real man doesn’t let anything warm his butt), or On Star (real men don’t even know what the hell On Star is).

No, this brute comes with the things us testosterone-fueled super action junkies need. It has a 265 HP engine to outrun the cops. It’s got special blood/gore resistant upholstery. It even has a first-aid kit in the back. You know what the first aid kit has in it? A pint of whiskey, a stitch-your-own-wound kit and a hunk of leather to bite down on when you’re operating on yourself. The Xterra also has an automatic transmission so if you’re being chased by Libyan terrorists, you’ll still be able to shoot your machine gun out the window and drive at the same time. It’s saved my bacon more than once.

It has room for you and the four hotties you picked up on the way to the gym to blast your pecs and hammer your glutes. There’s a tow hitch to pull your 50 caliber anti-Taliban, self cooling machine gun. I also just put in a new windshield to replace the one that got shot out by The Man.

My price on this bad boy is an incredibly low $12,900, but I’ll entertain reasonable offers. And by reasonable, I mean don’t walk up and tell me you’ll give me $5,000 for it. That’s liable to earn you a Burmese-roundhouse-sphincter-kick with a follow up three fingered eye-jab. Would it hurt? Hell yeah. Let’s just say you won’t be the prettiest guy at the Coldplay concert anymore.

There’s only 69,000 miles on this four-wheeled hellcat from Planet Kickass. Trust me, it will outlive you and the offspring that will carry your name. It will live on as a monument to your machismo.

Now, go look in the mirror and tell me what you see. If it’s a rugged, no holds barred, super brute he-man macho Chuck Norris stunt double, then contact me. I might be out hang-gliding or BASE jumping or just chilling with my ladies, but I’ll get back to you. And when I do, we’ll talk about a price over a nice glass of Schmidt while we listen to Johnny Cash.

To sweeten the deal a little, I’m throwing in this pair of MC Hammer pants for the man with rippling quads that can’t fit into regular pants.

Yeah, you heard me.

FREE MC Hammer pants.

Rock on.

http://tinyurl.com/3d5nws Â

Here are 3 free tips about marketing your warez on www.craigslist.org.

 Tip #1

Post you links in FORIEGN Countries. Why? When you post in San Francisco, for example, there are over 100 posts a DAY and your post will fall off the page in a matter of hours and not been seen.

Why?

People usually don’t click to see what is on page 2 postings. So you HAVE to be on page 1.

When you post in spots like Bangalore, India – http://bangalore.craigslist.org/biz/, or Dublin, Ireland – http://dublin.craigslist.org/biz/, your posts will be on page one for MONTHS. AND, if you put some good search engine optimized phrases as the subject line, you’ll find that post in the search engines for months ranking highly. I recently found a post I did for Coastal Vacations on PAGE 1 of google for a very popular search phrase!

Tip #2

If you own a business opportunity, don’t post your ads in the JOBS section. Post your ads for people looking to make money at home in the SERVICES section and in the subsection there called – Small Biz Ads.

Don’t use affiliate links, get a top level domain name to MASK the affiliate link. Use a subdomain name off one of your other domains, which acts as a re-direct or forwarding link to you affiliate URL. Or use www.tinyurl.com to mask your affiliate link for free.

Tip #3

Use Image Ads.

I have already once posted about using images in craigslist in my blog here.

BONUS Tip #4

If you have not already picked up the newest Craigslist Blackbook, which was just released today, get it now. It’s only a small $7 fee, which ANYONE can afford. It’s got priceless tips on how to profit, generate leads and traffic, which the other Craigslist Traffic book from last week, did not cover!

http://tinyurl.com/3d5nws

I like good free advertising tools.

Everyone does right?

Have you ever used http://www.craigslist.org/ to post any ads online?

Do you think online classifieds are so… 1998? Don’t work anymore?

Think again, cause there is a goldmine in Craigslist and you can be taking advantage of it today.

Go there, pick your city area closest to you. For this example, since I am in the small business services, I want you to look at the area on craigslist where it says…

“sm biz ads”

It’s usually under “services” at the bottom of the page, in the middle section.

Here is a picture.

Now, as you look through the ads, you get the idea. People are posting their biz opps there, services there, and other things, and there are actually 1000′s of people looking here everyday for solutions.

Do you see, by any of the ads this orange word? img

The img means that the ad has an IMAGE in it. And people would rather see ads with images, than just a snazzy headline.

Which reminds me, with craigslist, you’ll need a snazzy headline which will get people to click on your ads in the first place, so test some good headlines. And then when you combine the img tag at the end, it’s sure to be an ad that someone will click on and open.

Wanna see an example of a great image ad? Click hereÂ

Well, so, how do you make the image ad? You have to do it with html code. That Ad uses this simple html code:

So, I paste that code into the posting box on Craigslist, and now my ad is an IMAGE ad, and combined with a good headline, will get more clicks than the rest of the PLAIN TEXT ads.

REMEMBER: You need to host the image file on your own server online. You cannot leave it on your computer.

Try it out for your biz opp or services you wish to advertise. You may need to play with the html code a little to suit your needs. Sorry the image is so tiny, but everytime I tried to post the html sample as text here, it tried to accept it as html I was adding into my post so it never looked right.

But I think you get the idea at least. Enjoy the tip!
