Yesterday, I posted about Eileen Butler and her family’s plight about to lose their home.

I asked if my blog members and emailing list would help by doing three things.

1. Donate Money

2. Run promotions to their lists and donating the money made in from clickbank products from Monday-Friday to the Butlers.

3. Promote this story in your blogs and in the social media.

I want to thank all of your for helping out, but ask that many of you do more.

So far, there has been $70 donated.

So, my goal of raising $10,000 is pretty short so far, but… I am not giving up.

What you need to do, is get the story out.

Post it to your blogs. Share it on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Linkedin, Digg, Propeller, and Stumbleupon. Use all means out there available to get the message about this family in need.

Please don’t let them down. There are plenty of people here who can donate well beyond their means.

Here is the link to use to get the word about Eileen out there!

Be the Change You Want to See in Others

(5) Comments So Far... What do you think? December 29, 2008

It’s time to put your money where your mouse is.

On Christmas day, I reported the story of one down on their luck family that I read about from CNN. I posted it here.

In response to that post, I met Eileen Butler.

She made some comments at the end of the CNN story on my blog and I said, “I’ll help you”.

I know enough people out there to be able to make her long term problems go away for a while and help her get back to normal.

On Christmas eve, I went to church and the message was about Paying it Forward.

It was about being the change that you always want to see in others and just doing the things for people that you would want to see others do for you.

You’ve all seen the movie about the kid who makes his school project about paying it forward and impacting 3 people who will in turn take what was done to them and impact those 3 people in a positive way.

We watch these stories and then we say.. “oh that’s nice what that boy did….” but then we never do anything about it.

We think… “Oh.. If I help 1 person, then EVERYONE will come after me for help once they find out!”

No… that is not true. If you help one person, then you help one person and that person’s life will be impacted in a positive way for who knows how long. And you don’t think about the repercussions, you just do what is right.

So, Eileen Butler is about to get a new start for 2009 and I am counting on hundreds and hundreds of people to contribute and take care of this family, which you are about to meet below.

I wish I could do this for everyone, as there are many stories that cross my path of people and their special needs, but for right now, this family is going to be the one I pour my energies into and we’ll show them the power of the internet marketing community and how they can instantly rally together and get a family back on their feet so they don’t lose their home.

This is what Americans do.

This is what people who believe in Jesus do.

This is what the human race is supposed to do to take care of their own. It’s about paying it forward.

I won’t judge anyone if they do or don’t participate in this campaign, All I ask, is that you first read the story of the family I posted about on Christmas day.

Then, read the story of the starfish boy. It’s famous and it always moves me cause it always has a powerful message about being the change we need to see in others and doing the work ourselves.

Then… read the story from Eileen below and help her. Follow my lead and pay it forward.

Find people in your niche and do something great for them. Rally your own list to make the change that people need to see. And then… ask them to pay it forward and just let this grow out there in ways we’ll never know or see. It’s not about us… it’s about just helping and doing the right thing right now.

The Story of the Star Fish

Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.

One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.

He came closer still and called out “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”

The young man paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean.”

“I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, “The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them in, they’ll die.”

Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, “But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can’t possibly make a difference!”

At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, “It made a difference for that one.”

Eileen Butler Family

We have lived in our home since December of 1998. It is 1200 sq feet, 3 bdrm, 2 bath.  Nothing fancy, but a great starter home for us.  Then in Dec. of 2001 we adopted our 1st daughter at 2 days old and her sister 13 months later in January of 2003. Everyone says that the girls are ’so lucky’, because they would have gone into foster care.  That’s not why we adopted them.  We knew this was God through and through - and we are the ones who are so very fortunate.\

Anyway, my husband is a pastor but the church was small
so he has always worked a full time job.

In May of 2007 we left the denomination we had been a part of for 13 years.  It was a hard decision, but for moral and theological reasons, we knew it was time to leave. When we left we lost our housing and car allowance.  What we didn’t expect is that at that same time I was hospitalized with pneumonia for 4 days, so my husband had to miss work (without pay) to care for our girls.

Then the end of June, just as I thought I was getting stronger, I got sick again and was put in ICU with a different type of pneumonia. Another 4 days in the hospital, but this time with a much longer recovery.

During this time we were struggling financially, and in August of 2007 our cars were repossessed. The same bank holds our mortgage and car loan, and they would not give back our cars until both debts were caught up.  My husband drives an hour each way to work 5 days a week and there isn’t public transportation that is available. So we were able to borrow the money from a friend to get everything caught up.

It was touch and go for awhile, but we made it through and in February, with our tax refund, repaid the friend and used what was left to pay bills.  (In March we had to put in a new Drain Field. Cost: $2800.00) By June of 2008 we were in dire straights again with the house and the bank was threatening. By this time I was well enough and had been looking for work.  I was supposed to begin a position in September that would pay enough and work out perfectly with my daughter’s school schedule.  I called the bank and explained this and pretty much pleaded for some way to work things out.  We were told if we could pay the taxes and insurance we could sign paperwork to begin making payments again in September for the house and July for the cars. A fresh start - perfect!

Two weeks before I was to start work I found out I had no job because the funding wasn’t available. I immediately started looking for something - anything.  I only got called for one interview and was 2nd in line for the position.  I couldn’t even get a telemarketing job.  I actually do have a lead on a position and a contact in the company, but nothing will happen until after the new year and we need help immediately.

As of right now we owe 3 months on the cars. They aren’t fancy, but they get us where we need to go.  My husband is driving my 1999 van because it’s not safe enough for me to drive (his words).  It has no heat or AC (and we live in FL) and only one window would roll down partially - but not anymore.

There is also no power steering.  Even though he drives as much as he does, he rarely complains. I am driving his 2003 truck and both vehicles have over 100,000 miles on them. The house will have 5 payments due on January 1st and we have no time left.

I just can’t imagine having to tell our girls that we don’t have a home.

I think that would be the hardest part of all of this for us.  Especially when they see us, mostly their father, always there for others.  It’s not uncommon to find him in the worst neighborhood of our city on the side of the road trying to encourage the men who hang out there because they have no hope.  Until recently, we were the ones who helped others at the holidays, never thinking we would end up as the ones needing help.

The amount that we need to catch up is $4700.00 without the late fees.  If we were able to do that, I think the bank would work with us on the late fees.

By the way, we have started a new church. It is VERY small, but we believe it is to be a place of healing and new beginnings.  That is also what we are hoping for - a new beginning.

A Happy Holiday Story Worth Passing On

(3) Comments So Far... What do you think? December 25, 2008

The following story was from CNN.com and it shows me and others that the human spirit of taking care of our own is alive and well, despite the doom and gloom of the media.

Pass it on, help out and be the solution for those in need! Enjoy the holiday hope and Merry Christmas Message.

(CNN) — A family facing foreclosure is anything but a unique story in these troubled economic times.

Daniel and Ebony Sampson with their children. "It's a personal miracle," she says of how their home was saved.

Daniel and Ebony Sampson with their children. “It’s a personal miracle,” she says of how their home was saved.

But this is a happier story of one family whose financial ruin was averted by the actions of a friend, the compassion of strangers, the networking power of the Internet and the holiday spirit of giving.

“This is our Christmas story,” said Ebony Sampson. “It’s going to be told for generations and generations to come.”

Sampson, who lives in Aberdeen, Maryland, with her husband, Daniel, and their two young children, has overcome more hardship than one person should ever have to face. When she was in the 10th grade, she lost her entire family in a horrific car accident. Raised by a grandmother in New York, Ebony eventually used some life-insurance money from her parents’ death to buy the home in Aberdeen, near where she grew up.

But in June, Daniel got sick. After several tests, his doctors concluded that he was suffering from salmonella after eating a tainted tomato. As a new employee of Bank of America, he had not accrued enough paid time off to keep his job as a credit-card account manager.

Suddenly, the sole breadwinner in the Sampson household was out of work. Though the Sampsons received unemployment checks from the government, the money wasn’t enough to make ends meet.

First came the shut-off notices from the electric company. Then one of their cars broke down. One morning, Daniel woke up and looked out his bedroom window and saw his truck was missing. It had been repossessed.

With no job, no car and no income, the Sampsons got another surprise: Ebony Sampson learned she was eight weeks pregnant.

The Sampsons returned home from church, where they are practicing ministers, on a Sunday in November to find a stranger knocking on their front door. He wanted to put a bid in on their house. Ebony told him their home was not for sale. The next day, the Sampsons were notified that they were facing foreclosure unless they could come up with $10,000 in the next two weeks to bring their mortgage up to date.

“Once we received that letter, it was like, ‘Oh my God, what are we going to do?’ ” Daniel Sampson said. “I don’t think anyone in their right mind would receive a foreclosure notice and not be rattled by it.”

Somehow, the couple maintained their sense of humor. Ebony Sampson called one of her oldest friends, Jaki Grier, and jokingly asked her if she had $10,000. Jaki told her, “Sure, just let me open up my invisible purse!”

But then Grier got an idea.

A self-described geek, Grier started blogging years ago. Since then, she’s contributed to a magazine’s Web site and regularly posts thoughts and life happenings on her LiveJournal page. So, she published Ebony and Daniel’s story, along with a link where people could make a donation.

At the most, Jaki thought she could raise enough money to help the Sampsons pay a security deposit on an apartment after their home was auctioned.

But donations started pouring in. Within 24 hours, Grier’s blog had raised $1,000, far exceeding her expectations. People started linking to Grier’s blog from sites across the Internet and around the country.

Attorneys posted legal advice. Others in similar situations offered sympathy. One woman sent a donation with a note that said she had just lost her own home but wanted to help anyway. Another woman wrote that she didn’t have a car but would walk to her grocery store with a jar of change and donate it to the cause.

Yet another e-mail came from a woman who was unemployed, with no job prospects. She donated a dollar.

With every donation, the total raised ticked higher and higher on Grier’s blog.

“Everybody wants to give to a charity, but so many times when you give to a charity you don’t really see where your money goes,” Grier said. “At least with this, you saw the little [donations] ticker go. I think that made people excited.”

Four days after Grier’s blog post, she had raised $3,400 — enough to repair the Sampsons’ car. That night, Grier went to bed ecstatic. The next morning she checked her PayPal account and was stunned to find the balance had ballooned to $10,900.

In the time it took Grier to take the donation link down from her blog, the balance had reached $11,032. In just five days, she had raised enough money to save her friend’s home. A Baltimore TV station, WBAL, caught wind of the story and put it on the air. Someone contacted Daniel Sampson and offered him a job interview.

“It’s been overwhelming,” Daniel Sampson said. “For me, out of all the donations [we] received, it was a little kid [who] came knocking on the door early Saturday morning … with a five-dollar bill in his hand. He just came up to the door and said, ‘Here you go, mister.’ Then he just walked away. I was, like, speechless. He couldn’t have been more than 8 years old.”

Now Daniel and Ebony Sampson will be able to enjoy Christmas much more than they thought they would just a few weeks ago. They say that once their children are grown, they’ll tell them the story of how one holiday season they came within days of losing their house. They’ll spend this Christmas full of thanks.

“It doesn’t seem real to me, and so I just thank everyone out there that cares,” Ebony Sampson said. “There really was no hope for us. Then, out of nowhere, just the kindness of strangers, just people that came and, you know, provided for us. Jaki was our beacon of light that led them to us.

“It’s a personal blessing. It’s a personal miracle. It makes you understand what the season is all about.”

PPC Bully Free Webinar Replay

Remember Google Cash, by Chris Carpenter from down in Mexico? When it came out like 6 years ago, and had its variations over the years, the people who jumped into that program benefited the most who took action first and got the best campaigns and keywords before the masses got in and drove prices up.

People using that program made 6 figures!

Emil, from Israel, bought Chris’ Google Cash ebook, with stars in his eyes. He saw the proof of how much much money people where making setting up affiliate campaigns and sending traffic to those campaigns through PPC (Pay per Click - google adwords) traffic and making 5 and 6 figures per month.

With high hopes and incredible certainty… Emil… like many of us, including me at times…. plunked down his hard earned cash and put $10,000 into some Google Adwords PPC camapaigns and after some time was shocked at how much money he made in return.

Sitting in his bank account, after reading, studying, and doing EVERYTHING the ebooks told him to do, was a whopping…..

$2000.

So, let’s do the Math…. Spend $10,000 … make $2,000. Not exactly how it is supposed to be done, yet, Emil was not alone in this problem.

As a matter of fact… Many people who bought Google Cash or Affiliate Program ebooks talking about adwords arbitrage, simply spent a ton of money cause they saw how much others were making. Then they got skunked in the end.  No profits… more debt…. more heartache.

So, Emil set out to change this common phenomenon.

He found some people, who knew some people and he re-engineered the path that leads people to success with PPC Marketing sending traffic to Affiliate programs to see if he could infact… spend a little to make a lot.

After a year of testing and being able to duplicate success over and over, with newbies with no experience in PPC marketing, Emil knew he was on to something by creating a 95% success rate on all his campaigns using the PPC Buly system!

Here is how most people figure out how to market affiliate products using PPC traffic:

ppc bully

You may recognize this flow chart as it’s how most people go about trying to make money with affiliate marketing using PPC ads.

Now, here is the way successful people using PPC Bully find ways to make money, using the program:

PPC Bully

Now, to explain this, I want for you to warch Emil’s free PPC and PPCBully Webinar. It’s only 1 hour, but… by watching it, you’ll learn a ton of great stuff about making money with affiliate programs, even if you never made a dime online yet, or if you have been doing this for years and still make money, you’ll learn some good useful tips watching this.

Please enable Javascript and Flash to view this Viddler video.

Once you are done watching the webinar video, make sure you check out the PPC Bully system. Put it to use, and finally see profits from campaigns that will make you money online.

As you already know, pay-per-click campaigns take a lot of trial and error. You set up your keywords, write your
ads and track conversions until you find just the right combination that works the best.

The PPC Bully system, an advanced keyword research tool, allows you to know *up front* what works - and what doesn’t. You get to see exactly what your competitors are doing, cash in on their “test” and launch with the most lucrative combinations possible.

To better understand how the  PPC Bully system works, check out the demo video on their homepage. It walks you through the basic process.
